    Curriculum and Lesson Planning:

    Develop and implement a curriculum that includes practical life skills, sensorial activities, language, mathematics, cultural studies, and creative arts, following Montessori guidelines; Adapt lessons to meet diverse learning styles and developmental stages while ensuring progression in skills.

    Parent Communication and Engagement:

    Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress, challenges, and achievements through reports, conferences, and meetings; Educate parents on Montessori philosophy and methods to ensure consistency between home and school environments.

    Administrative and Collaborative Duties:

    Supervise assistant teachers, aides, or interns, delegating tasks and providing mentorship; Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and classroom activities; Collaborate with school administrators and other teachers to ensure program quality and adherence to Montessori standards.

    Professional Development:

    Stay updated on Montessori best practices through ongoing training, workshops, or certifications; Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety standards, and school policies.

    Qualifications:

    • Montessori Teaching Certification (AMS, AMI, NAMC, MINC, MACTE, or equivalent).
    • Experience working with children (ages 2.5-6) in a Montessori setting.
    • Strong understanding of child development and Montessori philosophy.
    • Excellent communication, observation, and leadership skills.
    • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferable
    • Infant/Child & Adult CPR (to be completed within one month of hire)
    • First Aid (to be completed within one month of hire)

    Our Toddler Program takes place within our Park Campus, located on the northwest corner of Hidden Valley Park, offering students a lush natural atmosphere. We have bright classrooms filled with toddler-sized furniture and materials. Reality-based activities are of great interest to toddlers, so be prepared to help them learn how to perhaps: dress themselves, use the bathroom, set the table for a meal, wash dishes, prepare food.     Typical daily tasks include:

    -Assisting with early, late arrivals / pick-ups

    -Supporting Head Teachers with maintenance in the classroom and prepare the environment

    -Cleaning and sanitizing the classrooms and tools for learning

    -Following health & safety procedures and supervising children including diapering

    -Follow BMS policies and procedures

    -Leading a group with stories, movement, songs, and other activities

    -Assisting with snack preparation

    -Engaging in conversation, reading books and poems, telling stories, and singing songs with children to increase their opportunities for language

    -Aiding children only if necessary, using Montessori method

    -Using positive discipline techniques to help students gain self-discipline and resolution skills

    -Offer children the love, individual attention and support that they need to be successful and an independent thinker.

    -Other duties assigned include complying with trainings, attending meetings, and supporting new hires
