Description: Montessori First is a neighborhood preschool in South Seattle offering children and staff a supportive place to grow and work. We are looking for someone to join our team part-time starting summer 2026, moving to full time in September 2026.

Duties Include:

• Monday through Friday following Seattle Public School yearly schedule. (We are closed and off most of the same days.) Summer shift is between 8a-3p, full time in September is 10a-5:30p.
• Classroom management of up to 12 preschoolers. Set clear, consistent expectations for the children’s behavior.
• Light cleaning, organizing, and setting up materials.
• Engage with the children in a kind, positive way that fosters a love of learning.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age with High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a Washington State DCYF Background check.
• Be physically capable of standing, kneeling, sitting on the floor and occasionally lifting 30 lbs.
• Has current (or we can help to obtain) CPR/FA, Food Handler’s Permit, TB negative test.
• Must be patient and take direction well.
• Has an interest in Montessori methodology.

Compensation:

• Salary $22-24 per hour DOE.
• End of school year bonus.
• Paid training.
• Possibility for paid Montessori Certification and Internship.
