Description: Early Childhood Assistant/Float Teacher
MCH is looking for an enthusiastic and creative assistant/float teacher to join our supportive, cross-collaborative staff in an early childhood classroom. Our award-winning Early Childhood program has been named BEST PRESCHOOL two years in a row by 425 magazine and continues to grow year after year.
In this role, you will be an integral part of our educational community, positively contributing to the authentic, holistic Montessori experience families have trusted for over 30 years. You will be a part of a strong, unified partnership with a certified Lead Teacher and have the opportunity to positively impact children during their most influential, developing years – from age 3 to 6 years old.
The assistant teacher will be highly “tuned in” with students and assist in creating a carefully planned, intentional learning environment. With patience, understanding and a passion for an all-inclusive learning experience, you will be working with children of a variety of different skillsets and academic/social abilities. The ideal candidate will blend a high level of caring with a firm, supportive, assertive attitude to guide children towards their own path of education and self-awareness. At times, you would also be working in a float capacity, covering staff absences when needed. This position requires someone who easily "roles with the punches" and can shift easily between classroom environments. You might also be assisting the administration as needed.
We work in a fast paced environment where teachers are deeply invested in their students, continually engaging young minds with age-appropriate work while encouraging curiosity and a respect for nature and the world around them. With a global citizen mindset and a peaceful attitude, the ideal assistant teacher is passionate about the childhood journey and wants to contribute to the positive character development of the next generation.
