The Department of Early Learning is interested in your input on the alignment of regulations between the licensing, Early Achievers and ECEAP guidelines.  The main effort at this time is to edit the language used among these systems rather than impose new regulations.  But changes will be expected.  You can participate by going to the portal during January to read over any portion and offer comments:

Please use this link to access the Alignment Community Input Portal and share broadly:  www.del.wa.gov/government/EarlyStartAct/Alignment.aspx.

The portal is open through January 29th, 2016. (extended)

Community input from the fall meetings already informs the process and in the Spring another round of meetings will be offered across the state to review the 1st draft.

Further Online Opportunities for Public Input will be announced in December.

The Department of Early Learning is in a one year process of aligning the language of the Licensing WAC with the Early Achievers QRIS and ECEAP standards.  The initial work has been supported by the Early Learning Advisory Council and the statewide meetings will be held in November-December and again with the 1st draft in April.

To attend a community meeting check the ALIGNMENT INPUT-STATEWIDE SCHEDULE with dates, locations and contact person.  This is a great way to be informed and to speak up for language that works.

A notice was sent out to childcare providers today explaining the change of public information on the Child Care Check site about all licensed providers.

In line with the Early Start Act, all Early Achievers ratings will be posted and every provider is allowed to enter a brief program description on their "facility" page of MERIT.  This is limited to 1000 characters and gives us an opportunity to be clear about the values of Montessori school programs.

Guidelines for entering this information is contained in the document that was emailed out today to all EA programs in Child Care Check.  Providers can access this portal by looking up your Facility/Site page and scrolling down to the new Program Description.
