PNMA joins Seeds of Compassion as a 'Community of Kindness' sponsor/partner.

On Feb. 13, PNMA's board overwhelmingly voted in favor of contributing $2500 to the Seeds of Compassion organization, a new movement to nurture kindness and compassion in the world starting with children and all those who touch their lives.  

This is a natural partnership with Montessori.  The giant kick-off for this organization is the 5-day (April 11-15; all free) Seeds of Compassion events starring His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, who will be graciously speaking at most of the multitude of events.  Other presenters include:  Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Rabbi David Rosen, Daniel Goldman, John Gottman, T. Berry Brazelton, Dan Siegel, Andrew Meltzoff and scores of others.  Dave Mathews is playing at the benefit concert, Friday, April 11 and apparently the Dalai Lama is going to that event, too.  Want more information?  go to:  http://www.seedsofcompassion.org .

Help Montessori grow in Uganda!

Two local Montessorians, Heather Braaten (The Learning Tree) and Susan Ennaro (formerly of St. Nicholas), will be traveling to Entebbe, Uganda to volunteer at the Victoria Montessori School in May.  This is the first and only Montessori school in Uganda.  They will be at the Sharing Fair with information about the school and are asking for help procuring Montessori materials to bring to Africa.  If you are interested in learning more or making a donation, please contact Heather at Heather_Braaten@hotmail.com.
