    POSITIONS: Support Staff, Substitute teacher and flexible Office Assistant position available (up to 30 hrs/wk) Monday through Friday for long term employment at WCLC. In time, advancement to Co-Teaching available, especially if it's a good fit. Searching for someone whose teaching philosophies are similar to the schools with interest in making a long term commitment. School year is Sept-July (closed in August).     -Work in coordination with the Teaching Team and administration to provide continuity and 

    consistency in supporting a high quality preschool for children 2.5 to 5 years. 

    -Provide appropriate emotional and social support for each child's development. 

    -Build positive relationships with the children, co-teachers, parents and director. 

    -Use positive guidance/discipline methods that strengthen each child's problem-solving and 

    conflict resolution skills. 

    -Awareness and experience of best practices for the preschool classroom. 


    -Able to be flexible as classroom Support Staff. 

    -Give breaks to co-teaching staff where needed each day.

    -Plan, implement and manage curriculum if/when needed. 

    -Participate in keeping track and document lessons when needed, photo taking for online portfolio.

    -Help clean, organize and maintain the classrooms, teaching materials and other areas of the school.

    -Meal prep, help with potty learning, outside playground supervision, some janitorial duties.

    -Basic office assistance where needed.


    -Sound working knowledge of child development ages 2.5-5 years. 

    -Excellent interpersonal communication skills with children, school staff and family members. 

    -Proven initiative and accountability with great follow through skills. 

    -Minimum of three plus years of professional preschool classroom teaching experience.

    -Experience designing dynamic curriculum for children ages 2.5-5 years of age. 

    -Native English speaker. 

    -BA, preferably in Education and completion, or near completion of Montessori Certification.

    -CPR/First Aid/BBP training

    Description: Cinquegranelli Montessori is a child focused and down-to-earth Montessori Italian language school for 3 to 6 year olds located in Seattle (Ballard Neighborhood). We work as a team to support children's learning, and enjoy a strong sense of community with our families.

    We  are presently seeking  a caring, energetic Montessori guide willing to partner with the education director in carrying out the overall themes of our program. The guide must be eager to prepare and maintain a holistic learning environment for 3 to 6 year olds. We seek a guide who may also speak Italian and has the following qualities: an ability to maintain a quiet voice, is gentle but firm, calm and reliable, with strong observation skills who can be a cheerful and flexible team member.

    We seek a Certified Montessori Primary guide who can inspire children (through skilled presentations) to engage with nature, and whose further demonstrations with Montessori materials will connect each child to themselves in their quest for discovery and independence.

    This is a part-time position with a group of 12 children ages 3 - 6 years beginning in August 2015. The hours are 8:30am-1:30pm Tuesday through Friday. Mondays are team planning days with 3 hours set aside for meeting, preparing shelves and materials and setting up the environment for the week (23 hours per week)

    Cinquegranelli operates from 9am-1pm Tuesday through Friday.

    (CANDIDATES: Because we know that most candidates are currently employed at this time of year, we will consider an intern agreement for the remainder of the year if the applicant is currently enrolled in a MACTE approved training center.)

    Start date is August 25th, 2015. Interviews will occur throughout the summer.


    An interview will be conducted with each candidate considered for employment; an observation of teaching skills; and three written professional references. If you are hired, these references will become art of your personnel file, and, to the extent required by law, be made available to you. Please provide official transcripts and a copy of your Montessori Certificate.

    All candidates will fill out and return a completed application form, and as regulations require, be fingerprinted by an approved government agency, and submit written record of an annual physical exam by a physician (including a tuberculin PPD Mantoux test, or chest X ray as necessary.) A legally binding Memo of Understanding signed by employees and administration will confirm appointment to a position. All employees are hired on a ninety day probationary period. If an employee is unsuited to the position, s/he may be released during the trial period. The Education Director must approve all absences or use of personal days during this period.

    - Bachelor degree preferred but not required

    - Background Check, CPR/First Aid (up to date), US Citizenship or work permit
