WHOLE CHILD LEARNING CENTER: WCLC is a highly reputable Montessori/Reggio Emilia preschool serving a dynamic group of supportive families in the greater Seattle Community since 2000. Each day we have fifteen to twenty multi-age children, 2.5 to 5 years of age with four dynamic Educators - RATIO: 1-5, and three plus - classrooms. Our teaching team is professional, energetic, supportive and reliable, and we whole heartedly believe that working with children is our calling. POSITION: Preschool lead teaching position available (35 hrs. a wk), responsible for the Sunroom group, ages 2.5 to 3.5 years of age. Train in July to start in September, important to find a great fit, someone whose teaching philosophies are similar to the schools and is interested in making a long term commitment. School year is Sept-July (closed in August). 20 hours training can start in July. Lead position benefits include paid sick /vac days and a healthcare bonus to defray cost of your own insurance. -Work in coordination with the Teaching Team to provide continuity and consistency to provide a
high quality preschool curriculum for children 2.5 to 5 years.
-Provide appropriate emotional and social support for each child's development.
-Build positive relationships with children, co-teachers, parents and WCLC admin.
-Use positive guidance and discipline methods that strengthen each child's problem-solving and
conflict resolution skills. -Awareness and experience of best practices for the preschool classroom.
TASKS/DUTIES: -Plan, implement and manage curriculum for the youngest group ages 2.5 to 3.5. This includes building potty learning skills, goal development and milestone record keeping for up to ten students each week. -Take a lead role in the curriculum development of your own classroom of five students daily. -Participate in daily written assessment keeping, photo and web based portfolio data keeping. -Document and participate in the yearly Parent/Teacher conference. -Clean, organize and maintain the classroom and teaching materials.
-Sound working knowledge of child development ages 2.5-5 years.
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills with children, co-teachers, family members and admin
-Proven initiative and accountability with great follow through skills.
-Twenty credit/clock hours in early childhood education.
-Minimum of three years of professional preschool classroom teaching experience.
-Strong experience designing dynamic curriculum for children ages 2.5-5 years of age.
-Native English speaker. -BA, preferably in Education
-Montessori/Reggio Emilia experience
-Three Professional references
-CPR/First Aid/BBP training
SALARY: -$15-$18 per hour, DOE -Benefits include paid sick/vac days and a healthcare bonus to defray cost of your own insurance. -On going opportunities for growth, creativity and collaboration with the Teaching Team.
