    WHOLE CHILD LEARNING CENTER: WCLC is a highly reputable Montessori preschool serving a dynamic group of supportive families in the greater Seattle Community since 2000. Each day we have seventeen to twenty-one multi-age children, 2.5 to 5 years of age with four dynamic Educators - RATIO: 1-5, and three plus - classrooms.     POSITION:

    Co-teaching position available (20-30 hrs. a wk) for the support/ co-teaching position. This is for long term employment at WCLC. We also have sub positions available that can work into co-teaching positions. Important to find a great fit, someone who's teaching philosophies are similar to the schools and interested in making a long-term commitment and building within the community. Twenty hrs. of training starting as early as June. School year is Sept-July (closed in August). Ongoing training and opportunity for growth, creativity and collaboration with the Teaching Team of Educators at WCLC.

    RESPONSIBILITES:

    -Work in coordination with the Teaching Team to provide continuity and consistency to provide a high quality preschool curriculum for children 2.5 to 5 years.

    -Provide appropriate emotional and social support for each child's development.

    -Build positive relationships with children, co-teachers, WCLC administration and the parents.

    -Use positive guidance and discipline methods that strengthen each child's problem-solving and

    conflict resolution skills.

    -Awareness and experience of best practices for the preschool classroom.

    TASKS/DUTIES:

    -Plan, implement and manage curriculum, as well as group circle activities, take a co-teaching role in curriculum development of the enrichment program.

    -This includes helping with goal development and milestone record keeping for the students during the year.

    -Participate in written assessment keeping where needed, photo taking and web based portfolio.

    -Help document and participate in the yearly Parent/Teacher conference where needed.

    -Clean, organize and maintain the classroom and teaching materials.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    -Sound working knowledge of child development ages 2.5-5 years.

    -Excellent interpersonal communication skills with children, co-teachers, administration and family members.

    -Proven initiative and accountability with great follow through skills.

    -Twenty credit/clock hours in early childhood education.

    -Minimum of three years of professional preschool classroom teaching experience.

    -An understanding and experience of the Montessori philosophy

    -Strong experience designing dynamic curriculum for children ages 2.5-5 years of age.

    -Must have leadership abilities, initiative skills to direct and co-manage with fellow teachers.

    -non-Native English speaker welcome

    -BA, preferably in Education
